Pineapple Cocktail Shakers

A rare indulgence in the 16th and 17th centuries, the presence of a pineapple originally signaled the generosity of a party's host - thus earning the moniker, "The hospitality fruit". In honor of this tradition, our client, a New York designer brand, decided to develop a pineapple cocktail shaker, and approached Elements Home for further production design, engineering, manufacturing, and more.

Goal

  • Create a realistic pineapple cocktail shaker
  • Easy to use
  • Leak-proof

Challenges and Solutions

  • Applied accurate engineering calculations to align the shaker's top and bottom edges to the precise intersections of the diamond pattern
  • Controlled force is applied during the diamond shape stamping process to ensure that the marks are visible only on the outer surface of the shaker, not internally
  • A silicon insert is added to create a watertight seal and secure the connection between the top and bottom components of the shaker
  • Shakers are divided into two parts and packaged in protective EVA paper boxes to protect the shakers from damage during transport

Materials

  • Zinc alloy
  • Stainless steel
  • Silicon
